Dating
Norms Of College Students
[ send
me this paper ]
6 pages in length. The concept of dating in today's
society bears myriad definitions depending upon the
source; when understanding the meaning to college
students, one can readily surmise that dating is often a
diversion from studies, as well as a chance to explore
one's sexual existence. Indeed, college is a time for fun,
freedom and discovery where students are bombarded with an
entirely new environment, overwhelming scholastic
requirements and a significant need to expand their social
horizons. Dating represents this latter demand to such a
degree that the entire college experience is often
believed to be little more than a constant social
engagement. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

HIV Testing: An Issue of Patient Privacy
[ send
me this paper ]
A 7 page overview of the controversy surrounding home
testing for HIV. Identifies AIDS, and HIV) as a tragic
disease for which there are tragic consequences both
epidemiologically and sociologically. Contends that
because of the social stigma which all too often results
with the disease and the insecurity of medical records in
general, home testing is not an option but a necessity.
Concludes that while what is really needed is stricter
regulation at the federal level ensuring the privacy of
medical records, that regulation is slow in coming and
therefore home testing is a needed option. Bibliography
lists 8 sources.

Issues
Concerning Needle Exchange Programs
[ send
me this paper ]
4 pages in length. An argument in favor of needle exchange
programs -- an inherently HIV- reducing idea that has
proven itself to be effective in European countries and
recently in the U.S. as well. The writer presents an
overview of legal issues, public views, and concludes that
the government should be more supportive of the idea-- but
in the meantime, overpowering resistance would make most
needle exchange programs fail miserably in the United
States. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Measures
of Androgyny
[ send
me this paper ]
A 5 page literature review that examines the various ways
of measuring androgyny. In examining the methods of
measurement we illustrate some specific studies which have
researched individual androgynous concerns. With each of
these studies it becomes more and more apparent that the
most widely recognized measuring scale is the Bem Sex-Role
Inventory, which essentially defines the masculine and
feminine characteristics of an individual through the use
of a questionnaire that uses adjectives with which the
subject can rate themselves. While there are other
methods, and while Bem?s inventory may not address all the
issues of a particular study, the Bem Sex-Role Inventory
is the most widely implemented measurement device in
regards to androgyny. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Philadelphia
-- The Movie
[ send
me this paper ]
A 4 page reaction to the 1990's-era film
"Philadelphia" starring Tom Hanks. The movie
dealt with an AIDS-victim's socio-legal struggles in suing
the law firm for which he worked under the assumption that
they wrongly fired him just because of his fatal and
socially-unaccepted disease. The writer reacts to the
performance of various characters, examples of
stereotyping, points being made, and the overall emotional
effectiveness of the film. No Bibliography.

Sex
Education and High School Students
[ send
me this paper ]
This 5 page report presents an argument in behalf of high
school students being required to take a sex education
class. The ever-present debate over whether or not high
school students (or students of any age) should be
required to take sex education classes has resulted in a
great deal of animosity. Even though sex education has
been implemented in most schools, adolescent pregnancy and
sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in America are still
significant problems. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Sexual
Behavior & Attitudes Of Unmarried College Students
[ send
me this paper ]
This insightful 5 page report examines the realistic
sexual behaviors of college students (approx.. ages 18-24)
and the reasons that AIDS education efforts simply aren't
scaring them enough. Even though today's younger
generation has assigned more "values" to sex
than the older, "hippie" generation, they still
very often fail to protect their lives while having sex.
Various profiles and psycho-sexual scenarios are provided
to illustrate points made. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

Sexual
Behavior & Attitudes Of Unmarried College Students # 2
[ send
me this paper ]
In light of the AIDS epidemic and current efforts to teach
the public about the dangers of unprotected sex, one would
think that college students would be the group most apt to
indulge only in safe sex. Wrong ! This 4 page paper
presents a realistic look at the behaviors of young adults
in college and how, with the threat of deadly disease
lurking between the sheets, they still continue to
practice sex without using condoms. Bibliography lists 3
sources.

Sexual
Behavior & Attitudes Of Unmarried College Students # 3
[ send
me this paper ]
4 pages in length. In this essay, the writer examines a
wealth of statistical information concerning condom use
and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS among college students.
While some of the data does indeed point to the fact that
this unique population is finally practicing safer sex,
there is still cause for alarm as more than 50% are not.

Sexual
Behavior & Attitudes Of Unmarried College Students # 4
[ send
me this paper ]
5 pages in length. College students, like all humans,
subconsciously believe that they are immortal. It is for
this reason that they are not practicing safe sex nearly
as much as they should. In essence, their sexual behaviors
are really not much different than those of generations
before them, they are just met by a different, and
admittedly more severe threat. Consequently, college
students acknowledge the health risks of sex but only to
the same degree that a smoker remains aware of the health
risks of their own potentially-deadly habit. Bibliography
lists 3 sources.

Sexual
Behavior & Attitudes Of Unmarried College Students # 5
[ send

young adults of the late 20th century believe that sex is

are some of the reasons for this phenomenon and how the
views of an older, married generation may tie in.

Teenage
Pregnancy
[ send
me this paper ]
6 pages in length. Due to the multiple risk factors - both
physiological and psychological - for adolescent mothers
and their children, prevention of repeat pregnancies needs
to assume a higher priority than it has in the past. The
socioeconomic elements involved with the multiple risk
factors of teen pregnancy cannot go unnoticed, inasmuch as
the prevalence of teen pregnancies occur in lower income
ethnic populations. Along with this particular
socioeconomic scenario is the use of drugs during
pregnancy, which serves to magnify the problems even more.

The
Sexual Revolution
[ send
me this paper ]
This 7 page report discusses the sexual revolution in
America of the 1960s through the 1980s. America of the
1960s and 1970s was a time of great change that brought
about the legalization of practices that it is now hard to
think of as once having been banned or thought of as
immoral such as birth control (illegal in many states as
late as 1965), abortion and interracial marriage.
Fundamentally, the sexual revolution changed almost every
aspect of American life. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
